This was once the main train station of West Berlin and inspired the U2 song Zoo Station. It was just a couple of minutes away by the U-Bahn from my hotel and so I was here everyday transferring onto the over U-Bahn (and S-Bahn) lines to get around Berlin. It was also one of my first sights of the city as the bus from the airport terminated here. The area reminded me of the images I saw of Germany in text books back in the days that I learnt German at school (not much use as I forgot it all).
